Washington. D.C. Aug 9 /67.
Gen. Howard,
Freedmen's Bureau,

Sir:
Gen. Barry in the employ of your Bureau owes me a bill of ($10.00) ten dollars for boot work. He left the city without saying a word about it and has not written to me. I wish General that you would call his attention to my bill and ask him to settle it, he has acted very ungentlemenly in this matter, I wont allow a man to treat me so. I will expose him if he dont pay me.
