On relieving Bt Lieut Col. Jas. M Moore Qr. Mr. finds that officer has furnished labor, coffins [[illegible]] &c for burial of freedmen on orders from Bureau. That he is not in possession of any order authorizing such expenditure - requests to be furnished with copy of order if any - if none he will be compelled under Par. 4. Gen'l Orders No 76. War Dept. to discontinue use of articles without authority of War Dept.
Requests that authority be furnished as soon as possible, or that arrangements be made whereby the labor &c may be furnished by the Bureau
