General:
In accordance with your endorsement on communication herewith enclosed, I have the honor to submit the following report:

Every assertion made in the enclosed communication I emphatically deny, and pronounce the same to be an accumulation of base prevarications, and defy the "true Southerner" to substantiate one single declaration made; he dares not communicate in the name granted him, may be at the Altar, but in an anonymous communication makes declarations over the ignominious title of a "true Southerner" - which title in itself sets forth the man in all his immorality and putrescence.
