Oct 4th 1866 States that he was keeping a Restaurant at Charlottesville Va. and his goods were seized by the constable by order of Justice Massey. This action was caused by evil of one Wm Marshall (colored) for wages alleged to be due him. He could not obtain a hearing before a Magistrate and was refused the privilege of paying the debt to Marshall. Appeals to Genl. Howard for justice.  |
