Sir:

We wrote to you May 28" last stating that Mr. C.P. Huntington, New Carthage La, a member of Plymouth Ch. Milwaukee, desiring to help the colored people in his vicinity, had agreed, in case the Bureau furnished $400, and board two or more teachers for four years free of charge.  We have received no reply from you.

We today rec'd two letters of which the following is the substance:

Enclosed find note from Capt Varney relating to our school enterprise.

Cold weather is now coming on and I am at a loss to know where we are to hold school this winter.  The building erected last spring is only a temporary affair, and not calculated for winter
