No person, according to the regulations of these schools, is permitted to attend the night school who attends the one kept by day. The teachers say that this rule is an excellent one, and that their experience proves it to be the very best. These schools were opened on the first day of this month and have steadily grown in numbers since that time.

The Sabbath School of this place is an excellent one numbering one hundred and twenty-eight scholars  Those attending it are mainly persons from the day & night school already referred to. The Superintendent is a freedmen of sense and executive talent. The teachers, however, supervise the school and do the teaching mainly. 
The scholars for the most part, read in the Testament and the Bible and are well classified, there being but
