and especially in and about Hillsboro, seems favorable to the education of the Freedmen. And in all respects they seem to be doing well. They are poor but industrious, and for the most part frugal. Many of them are bringing small pieces of land and building for themselves, comfortable little houses. Thus preparing to live, and be happy under their own roof.
