I have the honor to transmit herewith Copy of Agreement and Order from these Headquarters in relation to the transfer of the Freedmen's Schools City of New Orleans La. to the Board of School Directors for the Public Schools, a late ordinance of the City Council having provided for the education of the colored children of this city and appropriated $70.000.00/100 for that purpose.

A Delegation of the Committee on cold Schools of this city, called at this office on the 8th inst and agreed for a general transfer of all Freedmen's Schools the teachers therein employed to retain their position. 

Upon the recommendation of the Asst. Com. State La. the enclosed Articles of Agreement were drawn up
