term, on the 28th of last month. It has two sessions per day. As yet the Messrs. Harris have not opened a night school. This they intend to do very soon. The school is free; it is expected, however, and request is made accordingly, that those who are able to do so, pay twenty-five cents per month each, to meet incidental expenses.

The Sabbath School connected with this school, and which meets every Sabbath morning, at 9 o'clock A.M., in Evan Chapel, is in a flourishing condition. It numbers two hundred pupils, with twelve teachers, all colored. It has a good Library of miscellaneous books. There has been a revival going on in this Sabbath School School, for the last three months, and not less than fifty of the scholars have been converted, and have united with the church. The revival is still going on. Mr. Robt. Harris is the Superintendent of the school, assisted by his brother, Cicero R. Harris.

The public sentiment of this place is remarkably favorable to the Education of the Freeedmen. No opposition is expressed by the whites, and none seems to be entertained by them in this matter.
