Transcript from records in case of Capt. White

Dr. De Harme Surgeon in Chief Dist of Ga. June 17th, 1867. transmits to Chief Medical Officer accounts of Dr T.S. Hopkins for medical attendance furnished Capt. W.F. White, Sub. Asst. Comr at Thomasville, Ga.  Forwarded, June 21st, '67. by C.M.O. to the Commissioner inquiring if accounts for Medical attendance upon officers, of the V.R.C. on duty in Bureau, and to be paid from the funds of the Bureau.  Returned June, 25th, 1867. to C.M.O. by Comr stating that this account should be paid by Med. Dept of the Army under par 1309. Rev. Army Reg. 1863. _ Forwarded June, 27th '67 to the Surgeon General. _  Referred June 29th, '67. by Surgeon General to Secretary of War for decision, States it does not appear that Capt. White was on military duty with troops or his regiment, but detached from any command acting as Sub. Asst. Com of Bureau R.F. and A.L.  The provisions of par. 1309 are not considered as applying in such cases and this account is not thought properly chargeable to the  (over)
