and placed in a safe place of deposit, but General Gregory persisted in ordering him (Hildreth) to keep them there, although he (Hildreth) assured him (Gen'l Gregory) that they were daily disappearing. He further deposes that, in the action he has taken with regard to presenting charges against Genl Gregory and, such other acts as he has take upon himself to perform he has acted from a high sense of duty, prompted by a love for justice and right and he earnestly hopes that the charges will be thoroughly investigated, and justice meted out to who justice is due.
