H67 (R., F. & A. L., Vol. 12) 1868.

Baltimore. Md.
April 6th, 1868
Hildreth. C. W.

Asks whether he may look for a re-instatement in the Bureau? Has always supposed that when the result of Gen'l Brooks' investigation was forwarded to the Hd Qrs of the Bureau, he would be reinstated.

Protests that his statements are to be believed, etc. Asserts that the Comm'r. is deceived in that man (Gen'l Gregory). States that he "can prove him guilty of as direct falsehoods as ever the father of lies concrated, & will agree to prove them out of his own mouth."
