6. Anthony Foster, civilian.

CHARGE——Murder

Specification——In this that, Anthony Foster, civilian, a citizen of Panola county, in the State of Mississippi, did on or about the 5th day of October, 1867, at or near Sardis, in the said county of Panola, feloniously and of malice aforethought kill and murder Augustus M. Settles by shooting and wounding said Settles with a ball discharged from a pistol, of which shooting and wounding said Settle did then and there die.

PLEA
To the specification,  "Not Guilty."
To the charge, "Not Guilty."

FINDINGS
Of the specification,  "Not Guilty."
Of the charge, "Not Guilty."
And the Commission does therefore acquit him, Anthony Foster, civilian.

V. The proceedings, findings and sentence in the case of the citizen Charles W. Vick, are approved, and he will be imprisoned at hard labour for the period of five (5) years at the State Penitentiary at Little Rock, Arkansas, to which place he will be sent by the Commander of the post at Vicksburg, Mississippi, under guard, and at the same time a copy of this sentence will be sent to him.

In the case of citizen [[strikethrough]] Anthony Foster [[/strikethrough]], M. C. Johnson, [[strikethrough]] William Baker, James Varnell and Henry Justice (colored) [[/strikethrough]] the proceedings and findings are approved, they will be released and sent to their homes.
