H.1 F.B.S.M. Vol 2. 1867 Yazoo City Miss., July. 22d 1867 Copy Green, John. and other Freedmen. M.93. RF & AL Vol 12, 1868. State that they have been interfered with in their right to Register and in exorcising other rights belonging to Freemen, by their employer Col. Harry Gilmor. They state that a pistol is carried by the overseer. They appeal to the Military Authorities for protection Bureau Refugees Freedmen AL Sub-Dist of Yazoo Office Agent Yazoo City Aug 10-67. Copy Respectfully forwarded to Actg Asst. Adjt General 4th Mil. Dist. in Compliance with Gen. Orders No. 16 - dated Vicksburg Miss June 29th 1867, and would respectfully state that the facts herein stated are not in my opinion exaggerated. The Freedmen have been allowed but few of the rights guaranteed to them by the laws of the U.S. (sgd) Allen P. Huggins Agent Bu. RF&A.L. Sub Dist. Yazoo. Transferred to S.D.M. 8/20. 1867. G.128.S.D.M. 1867 Headquarters Sub. Dist of Miss. Vicksburg Miss Aug 20, 1867 Copy Respectfully referred to Bt Capt. R. Sweatland Comdg. Post of Yazoo City who will investigate this case and if the charges contained herein are correct he will arrest "Col" Harry Gilmor and hold him in close confinement subject to orders from these Hd Quarters reporting his actions in the case at once.
