Mr. Gilmor states that the reason he did not inform his hands of the meeting of the Board at Benton, was, that Mr. Hilliard, one of the members, informed him that he expected they would return to that place before they closed, and at that time his crop was in a condition which needed all the labor he could get, and consequently he did not wish them to leave at that time.
