Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled. That the sum of One Thousand Dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated for the payment in full to Mr William D Mathews Late 1st Lieut independent Battery US Colered Artillery. Light, for his Service in recruiting organizing drilling and subsisting the 1st Kansas Infantry afterwards numbered the 79th U.S.C. Troops, during the year 1862-3.
