Allegan, Allegan Co. Mich March 23d, 1868. M 124. R.F.A.L. Vol 12 1868. [[stamp]] THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF THE UNITED STATES [[/stamp]] Mix Elisha late Col. 8th Mich Cav. Bvt. Brig. General U.S.A. Encloses letter of Lt. Allen P. Huggins of Jackson Miss., mentioning difficulties under which he labors on account of his conflict with the interoperate and conservative element in the Bureau in Miss. Testifies that Lt Huggins is an honorable, truthful, Christian gentleman; proved himself such during the war, and his work is entirely reliable etc, etc. Requests the return of the enclosed letter of Lt Huggins.
