[[left margin]] School Reports Continued [[/left margin]] School law, providing that the colored people of Maryland should have the benefit of their own school taxes, for the support of their own schools. 
[[left margin]] City of Baltimore [[/left margin]] In the City of Baltimore, the unfavorable feeling in reference to the schools is lessening, the Mayor in his Message (Jany 22nd) said "I recommend that some provision be made for these unfortunate people in this respect, Whilst amongst us, it is our interest that their self mastery should be sufficiently instructed to enable them to be self supporting, and not a grievous charge on the treasury" 
[[left margin]] Action of City Council [[/left margin]] 
Since the commencement of this report the following ordinance has been introduced in the City Council  Section 1st Enacts that from and immediately after the passage of this Ordinance: it shall be the duty of the Board of School Commissioners to establish as many schools for the education of colored children; in addition to those already established, as may in the judgement of said Board, be necessary, 
Section 2nd  Provides the rules to Govern the schools. 
Section 3rd  Enacts that the sum of - dollars be, and the same is, hereby appreciated for the purpose
