The Educational work presents the same gratifying results heretofore experienced, and the month shows a considerable increase, both in schools and pupils. Many applications are still received for aid to establish new schools, all of which receive the attention due them.
The fund allotted to the State is insufficient to meet the various demands as fully as would be desirable, and it is earnestly recommended that an additional sum be appropriated for this work if possible.
There were in operation, during the month, 230 schools with 239 Teachers and 12508 Scholars, being an increase over previous month of 22 Schools, 21 Teachers, and 1531 pupils. During the same month there were reported in operation 174 Sunday Schools with 12465 pupils.
