Howard, Commissioner Washington, D.C. General By Circular Letter from the Bureau Hd Qrs (Office Chief Medical Officer) instructions were given to discontinue Post Hospitals and to substitute a General Hospital. This was done, and the patients removed from various parts of the State to Salisbury. By this movement a considerable quantity of hospital property became available and the Surgeon in Chief (Capt. W.F. Smith Ass't. Surg. U.S.A.) considered that it was advisable to sell the same, and so reported, but no action was taken.
