I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of May 15th authorizing the purchase of four hundred (400) bushels of corn for distribution to destitute white and colored people in Wilkes Co.
A copy of your letter to Mr. James Carle, Agt. at Wilkesboro, directing him to make requisition on Lt Col Johnston for articles of clothing, not to exceed One Thousand (1000) suits, has also been received.
