and a better man put in his place I have not met with a man of such prejudices the case of Staton if left to him would fail to get justice I am sure. Complaint has been urged by Col men. as to decissions before. Such agents are doing much harm especialy to Col men interest. Golds does its work too often for justice to take place. The matter is before and can be established.

I am Respectfully
Willis Burn

P.S. It would be best to arrest the trial of Staten and order a military commission at Rocky Mount. and bring the parties together at that point. Should you do so and its the only way for Justice to take place you will inform Mr. S Fountain one of the registers and he can inform the parties when to meet.
