Well, now, I have striven with emphatic compulsion to follow your text with careful replies which I hope are somewhat useful to you. (I will write about the Look Magazine piece briefly in another letter.) I do not mean to contest at being so correct - as Franz Kline used to maintain, that's not that terrific a condition. I simply wish to be one of those (his) noisey artists.

Please keep this letter for yourself. I would like to employ some of its material for a later article. Of course no embarrassment to you would be permitted.

It might amuse you to see that after reading most of this letter, Sonja smilingly exclaimed, "... but, it's so reasonable, Dan."

Best wishes for a pleasurable and prosperous new year from the Flavs. (I sense that you don't require the wishes, any longer. You are there.)

Flav.

P.S. What puzzles me about avant-gardist movementism is its rash immediate determination and application against art and artist. Critics and their curatorial "fellow travellers" seem desparately eager to contrive the phoney synthetic group identity before the art is but marginally recognized and the artists involved barely identified.
