Dear Sam,

Sonja and I cannot possibly come to Hartford this weekend. We are almost penniless and I must stay close to the gallery.

It appears that I will have a gallery to represent me in about a month's time.

Phillip Johnson is interested in my work. I am about to send him some photographs.

I am sorry not to be able to be with you this weekend. I have never seen Mr. Cunningham at work.

Regards to you,

Dan

P.S. I've just been informed that Frank Stella is going to buy icon VII (black and daylight).
