Resignation

Pale mother, weep not for the spirit fled,
The face that smiled upon thee with the light
Will greet the angel ere the coming night-
Nor question God for this, thy darling dead
The little feet in gentler ways are led
The paths of Heaven are more than jasper bright.
His [[strikethrough]]little[[/strikethrough]] day was but [[strikethrough]]a vision white[[/strikethrough]] a promise of delight;
[[strikethrough]]Pillowed on greater Heart than thine[[/strikethrough]] his head;
A larger heart than thine now rests
Tonight, diviner cradle songs he hears
Sweeter than yesterday's [[strikethrough]] that lulled to sleep.
[[/strikethrough]] why drift than weep?
Now will he know the tempest of the years,
But by the Shepherd's side shall willing keep-
Behold through deepest gloom thy light appears,
He is not dead- [[strikethrough]]whom God Himself dot keep.[[/strikethrough]] who on God's breast arth keep.
