Dear Arshile:

I have some very bad news and I simply hate to have to tell you about it. Yesterday the plan for our American show was completely changed and the abstract section of it has been postponed. In a way it will be better because the combination of abstract art with extremely realistic art in the same show seemed a little uncomfortable. But I feel terribly that the decision about the nature of the show could not have come before I had asked you to be in it.

I hope that we will have the abstract section of the exhibition next winter and I shall be looking forward tremendously to inviting your paintings to be in it.
Affectionate greeting to you and Agnes.
Sincerely,
D.C. Miller
