Dear Mrs. Cahill:

I hope you will recall our corresponding, back in 1971,
about your beautiful Arshile Gorky Painting and my plans to include it in my Gorky Catalogue Raisonne. Your kind permission to publish this painting, and all the wonderfully detailed information you gave me about it, are deeply appreciated. Thank you very much for your interest in this project. I enclose a prospectus which will bring you up to date on the book which will appear with the New York University Press.

This summer I am trying to complete the manuscript for
publication, and I would much like to see your Gorky painting
and make arrangements to obtain photos of it.

For your convenience, I will call you about this in the next few days. I look forward to talking with you, and thank you again sincerely for your interest. Best regards,

Yours truly,
