Dearest Mummy, Here I am back a work and almost established in an apartment. It is a new one on Edwards street, back of the new Ct. Val. Hist. Soc. building,---one large room, not as big as my room at Mrs Lawler's, a Murphy bed, a kitchenet and a bathroom, fully equipped with shower, frigidaire, Lorrain gas range, and electric dish washer, all for $45 a month. The location is better then the Byers street one, and everything else is about equal, except that there is no breakfast nook, but the room is larger, which I prefer. Some day if I have enough money, I'll move into one of the three room ones, which cost $55 a month.

Aunt Mary is giving up her apartment, so she offered to let me use some of her things, including her victrola, a chiffonier, and a gate leg table. Possibly I may also get her oriental rug, which would be lovely. The only thing I had to get was a mattress, which cost $25, so I guess I'll just count that your Christmas present to me. Some day I'll have a window seat made, under which will be some shelves for books. But at present I'll just maintain the status quo. The gas and electricity has been connected, and I have given the order for the telephone. By the way, perhaps you could make some curtains for me some time. I think I'll just have theatrical gauze; but but the color will depend on whether or not Aunt Mary leaves her rug with me. Louis is going to help me move this afternoon; and Tome helped me the other night. He mentioned getting a Christmas card form [?] you and was pleased that you remembered him. Louis has a new car. Oh yes,
