Daily --- Sunday --- Weekly

Springfield, Mass.

the consumer gets for his dollar. It has a revelation of waste. Ruth Fisher is working on me so that we use only white list products, on the lines of the consumers league, so pretty soon my daily life ought to embody all my economic and social beliefs. I think that people ought to do what they can to give their principles support. Recently we raked together a lot of old clothes to send to the striking mill workers in Gastonia. Over a thousand men and men are out of work, have been living in tents all winter. You know conditions there are terrible, people working 60 and 70 hours weeks for wages as low as $10 and $11.

Hope you are feeling well. It is quite hot today, ought to be good for sunbathing tomorrow. I have a new bathing suit, bright green; my lovely yellow one shrank so that it wasn't decent and I gave it to Eleanor. I haven't had much chance to play golf this spring yet; but this week got out twice and was frightfully lame afterwards. Guess I need the exercise. Any way I've already got the beginnings of a good tan.

With ever so much love.
