In a cable to Florence Paul stated that he was pleased with the fact that I was willing and able to have the exhibition as he suggested. In a way it was a short notice but I am glad now to have been able to go through with it. I think Florence decided to hang the exhibition a little later than she expected. She is anxious for Paul to see it on the walls of the newly decorated gallery when he returns. I confess I was stunned when orders for an exhibition came, but now that I am ready- I am delighted. It gives me an excellent opportunity to show things that have never been seen and such which will prove that my mind rambled in the right and apprehensive or anticipatory channels at a very early period in the modern art movement, and alone here in U.S.A. in isolation and flagrant neglect.

But no complaints! I am happy to be able to persevere and continue to work without any fear or doubt. I will rest a few days — and I will resume my painting - I really have much to do, new thoughts new means - but alway human it must be - spiritual more than cerebral.

Frances and Joy join me in best wishes and love to you and Edna As ever, MAX
