At last at last, Paul is back and I can tell you he is just as happy to be "back with us" as he was to leave Paris - this time. He enjoyed his visit in France - for you know how passionately he loves it but he experienced much difficulty in arranging matters particularly pertaining to his house and gallery. The building is terribly run-down & neglected. The government is using it and he does not know when it will please them to vacate. But with it all he is satisfied with the knowledge that his younger brother who is deeply devoted to him is looking after his interests. He enjoyed visiting Matisse and Picasso and he told me that they remembered me very distinctly....
