Dear Keith:

This is to be a "reply letter" to two of your good letters which I was pleased to receive. That squinty-eyed guy McKinnon certainly laid it on thick about the heat in Florida. And he told it with a silly leer on his minced face. I was grieved to learn or to think of your discomfort and wished I could do something to help ease the situation - but what can one do? 

Well I shall never take him seriously. He is a vapid sort of enthusiast, given to splashing superlatives - anti-climaxes, - when one "catches on".

Anyhow I was delighted to receive your letter telling me that since the rains subsided - you are enjoying such lovely weather. Believe me we suffer here with the heat. Days go by without accomplishment! And it saddens me terribly. Nevertheless I hope to make up for lost time - as soon as cooler weather comes.

I miss our little trips, and the "fruit-juice" before dinner . And our careless abandoné
