DANIEL CHESTER FRENCH
GLENDALE
MASSACHUSETTS.

August 21, 1909.

My dear Dielman :-

I have just heard from Mr. Heinigke. I enclose his letter. What shall we do about it. Anything? If we were to recommend it, there would have to be a photograph made to show to the donors. I suppose our recommendation of thispicture [[this picture]] would secure us the undying animosity of LaFarge, but I feel that our first duty is to the Museum. Perhaps you are not so keen about the Heinigke picture as I am? Moreover, if you think that the Adoration fills the requirements, it will be all right to recommend it anyway.

Can you answer immediately, so that I can write to La Farge and to Mr. Morgan.

Yours faithfully,
French (D.C.)

Frederick Dielman, Esq.

P.S Do you think I should write to Mr. Morgan direct or make a report and recommendation to the Secretary, signed by us both?
