Frederick Dielman, Esq.

My dear Dielman:-

I sent along the letters to Mr. Morgan and Mr. Walters, and had a reply from Mr. Morgan which said that he was ready to do anything Mr. Walters thought best. I also had a reply from Mr. Walters, and he said that while ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars was more than they had contemplated spending. he was willing to spend his part of it, and was in favor of this picture which Mr. Heinigke has rather than the large picture in Mr. La Farge's studio. I have also written to Mr. Walters asking him to go to Mr. La Farge's studio and see the picture there, in order that Mr. La Farge may know that we have done our duty by him. I will keep you informed of further developments.

Yours faithfully,
Daniel C. French
