be attesting by its mellow radience  his glory in our art, while his friends are united to confirm his greatness in another - and that there is an agent more subtle & perhaps more reliable than that which he has conquered, which, while you are receiving intelligence from all parts of the globe, will communicate its messages by the clear voices of the future - addressing his name Immortal!

And say- that while wreaths of fame & mantles of honor, & tokens of respect & well-earned glory, are showered on him for his beneficent gift to humanity, I hope this humble testimony of his "grandchild" in our gentle art, will chance to fall as near his heart as any of the richer offerings.
