my purposes in Tennessee, admirably, I took a copy and ordered in person 500 from Stanage, Saunders & Co.

I was relieved from duty in Tennessee immediately after and ordered to South Carolina. When I returned to Memphis to turn over my property I found that the A.Q.M. had stricken out of the Bill the item 500 Blank School Reports, leaving $13. 50/100 unpaid, I was not then on duty at Memphis and could not provide for the payment. Afterwards I received letters from Stanage, Saunders & Co. on the subject and while in South Carolina sent them Vouchers no 12, with a certificate that the articles were furnished.

I am of the opinion that the blanks were used and that the debt is a just one, and should be paid. If it is the opinion of the commissioner that I should pay the Bill, I am ready to do so.

As for the charges that I called at the office of Stanage, Saunders & Co in a condition totally unfit to perform any
