Sir
In view of the changes soon to take place in the Bureau, we would respectfully and at the same time earnestly request the retention of Dr H C Vogell as Supt of Education for this State. He has for a long time been identified with the Bureau as Agent, and for the past six months as Supt of Education, during which time over fifty new Schools have been organized, and believing it to be for the interest of the Freedmen we make this our request, feeling as we do that any change in this department would prove detrimental to the educational interests of the State. Hoping this may meet with your approval, we are
Very Respectfully
