Dear Sir,

Mr. Samuel Woolman our agent was on Saturday authorized to proceed to Washington and receive from you the amount offered to us when you were here, payable Nov. 30. to wit Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars.-

The Board also desired that I should make known to you the heavy loss our Association has met with in common with churches and individuals in the city, by the defalcation of our late Treasurer Joseph W. Day. Mr. Day was esteemed as one of the purest men of our city and was trusted by every one. We had in hand of our funds, the sum of Six Hundred and Twenty five Dollars and ninety three cents ($625.93) every dollar of which we have lost. The loss falls upon us at a time when (it being the close of the month)
