matter. He then went to see Dr. Bell & coming back informed me I had better notify my friends, not to come, as they were refused admittance, by Dr. Bell. I wrote to Dr. George Griffith and went down and saw Dr. T.J. Griffith as for as I know they notified parties not to come" See Vol. 1 Pp L 13 to 30) and he further says that Dr. T.J. Griffith, Maj. G. W. Griffith late U.S.O. Dr. Brown. Capt Kennedy. Dr. Lytton, Dr. Wilson and one or two citizens came & were refused admittance. He adds I suggested that the matter be referred to Hd. Qrs., Capt Brown did so also Dr Griffith When Dr. Bensons lectures were stopped and certain hours of visitation opened (by orders) for visitations of the public.
