On the other hand it appears from the testimony of Charles Fais M.D. who was one of the parties who accompanied the Messrs Griffith that the Messrs Griffith had some personal feeling against Dr Bell, originating in Griffith's hatred of Dr Benson that Dr Griffith used very hard language toward Dr Bell. (see Vol 2 Pp 52 L 19 to 25 & Pp 54. L 2.)
It seems that Dr Fais was ignorant of the object of the visit to the Hosp'l and that he did not go there to test the matter, "He says in answer to the question, "Did you know previous to your visit, what was the object of the same?"-"No I was in the dark, heard some such remark as "that D_d old Rebel Benson, can go to the Hosp'l.
