Thos B Davis  says "I was engaged in the dispensary under Dr Octolony down town, and frequently went to the Hosp'l to attend lectures, & also on business, as near as I can say, not more than a half gallon drank all together and a part of this was bought by Dr Benson and Dr Roberts, (See Vol 2 Pg 26 L 6 to 12) 

M. Cahill
Steward W Cahill says "Bruce had drams filled a pocket flask, drank from 19 to 24. Times to his knowledge, (See Vol 2 Pg 33 & 34)

Dr Octerlony
Dr John A. Octerlony A.A. Surgeon, says that "He has seen whisky drank but not by outsiders, only by physicians after an operation had been performed, and it was necessary" (See Vol 2 Pg 44 L 1 to 4)

From the above it appears that a little whisky was drank from two quarts to a gallon (including whisky purchased by parting drinking) that is from 32 to -64 drinks, or about half what Bruce consumed.
