Testimony of Gustave Meiser, in the case of T.J. Griffith Dr R. A. Bell A. A. Surgeons U. S. A.- under oath.

Q. What is your name, age and occupation? How long have you served in the Army. And in what organizations? 
A. Gustave Meiser, 39, First entered into Army as Capt to "D" 29 N. York. May 15 1861, Discharged July 1863, Commissioned Captain 2 Battalion V.R.C 4th of Sept 1863, Dismissed 29th of February 1864 on account of a quarrel with Major Martin Floods. Had no Court Martial whatever.

Q. How long have you been in this Hospital? and by whose order came you here?
A. I came here from Boat sick, on my way to Texas, by order of Dr. DeWitt. 

Q. State what if anything, you have to complain of as to your treatment?
A. At first Dr. Bell & Dr. Benson visited me twice a day, I decided to have amputation performed, & he Bell, did not show his face for fourteen days. Took the medicine away from me, During the time I asked Me'd Cadet Galbreath
