Second. That Maj. Roberts tried to seduce Bruce's wife. Mrs. Bruce testifies that Maj. Roberts sought to induce her to leave her husband; to go to assignation houses &c. This Maj. Roberts (also under oath) denies, but admits a flirtation

Mr. Bruce was told by his wife but made no complaints until after his discharge from his clerkship--. By the testimony of all it appears that [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] Major Roberts did not succeed in seducing Mrs. Bruce.

Finding that Maj Roberts acted in an exceedingly foolish indiscreet manner in this affair but cannot say how far the charges are sustained.

Third. That Maj. Roberts used dishonorable means to have Genl. Frederick (his predecessor) relieved. That he offered $10. to any one who would get Genl. Frederick drunk, so he could see it &c.

Finding "It appears that Maj. Roberts did make some such offer but as the parties are very bitter enemies and the offer was made after Genl. F. was relieved, no comment is made on this point.

Fourth That Maj. Roberts while officer of the U.S.A. was agent for a suing--Finding -- not sustained -
