A. B. Some week or so before my discharge, I told him I was informed that Gen'l Ely said he [[?]] Roberts had applied for my discharge. He said if Gen'l Ely said so he is a liar 5 at the same time he wanted me to go to Gen'l Ely. I said I did not know Gen'l Ely before Capt Kennedy told me this. 
Q. R. Who was the friend that told you Maj Roberts had applied for your discharge and 10 the appointment of a successor.
A. B. Capt Brown, at same time Maj Roberts told me he had not & would not apply for my discharge. He applied for my discharge on the 24th on the 27th a young 15  man came to the office for the place. Maj Roberts told him he had not recommended any one for the place. 
Q. R. What do you know about Dr Bell having tried to procure your discharge?
A. B. 20 Nothing - further than what I have already stated and from his surveillance verbatim and dogmatic style of treatment on account of a stand made by me against rebel cadets and rebel doctors, I filed an affidavit with Capt 25 Brown at the instigation of Gen'l Frederick giving the revel status of these cadets.

A. B. I have joined with and seen repeatedly Dr Bell 30 Dr Benson; Rebel Cadets Lieut Hogarty
