Q Where did you get the whisky you drank at Bruce's house on a certain Sunday?
A It was some left at my office by Gen'l Frederick, which I had locked up in my desk.

Q. What, if any, action did you take to procure the removal of Lieut C.H. Frederick from the office of Sub Ass't Com'r Louisville Sub District Kentucky?
A. Upon Lieut F's appointment as 1st Lieut Regular Army, I considered that I ranked him, and simply raised a question of rank, which I submitted to my superior officer in due form. 

Q. Did you ever ask Capt Burke to use any influence to procure Lt F's removal?
A No. I only asked him to introduce me to Gen'l Burbank.

Q Did he introduce you?
A He did but no conversation passed between Gen'l B and myself, except in relation to rank, this at Taylor Barracks.

Q. Did you ever keep a "black list" of Gen'l F's irregularities with a view to using the same against him?
A. No. I only kept a regular diary, which I
