Testimony of Steward Cahill under oath.

Q What is your name, age and occupation?
A Michael Cahill. Hosp'l Steward and Clerk.
Q Who was in charge of the drug room of [[note]] 5 [[/note]] Hosp'l Bureau R.F. and A. Lands Louisville Ky from the 14th day of March to the 10th day of April 1867.
A (Under protest) I was, subject to the orders of the Surgeon in charge of the Hosp'l from [[note]] 10 [[/note]] 14th of March to 8th of April 1867.
Q What were the [[note]] 15 [[/note]] orders governing the issue of liquor during that period, and who gave the orders?
A At that time and for some time previous the orders were to issue none except on prescription of the Surgeon, this to the best of my knowledge and belief.
Q Were these orders obeyed?
A To the best of my belief they were.
Q [[note]] 20 [[/note]] Did you ever see Dr Bell drink liquor as a beverage during that period?
A To the best of my knowledge and belief, I did not  (End)
