I did this to bring the matter up in an official form. On May 25" 67, Dr Frazee, [[left margin]] 5 [[/left margin]] Deane of the Faculty Ky. school of Medicine wrote me a letter (Marked Ex "M" which was forwarded by me to Bvt Col Edwards Chief Med Officer of the Bureau Enclosed in letter (Copy marked Ex "N") [[left margin]] 10 [[/left margin]] and rec'd in answer letter (Copy marked Ex "O") which ended the matter of Clinical Lectures. 
Q  How has Dr Bell discharged the duties of his office since he has been in charge of Hospital?
A [[left margin]] 15 [[/left margin]] To my entire satisfaction, and I think the Hosp'l has been very much improved. 
Q  How often have you visited the Hospital to look into its condition?
A  Three or four times a week and am present [[left margin]] 20 [[/left margin]] to perform, or assist in performing all operations of importance, am consulting surgeon myself, and never in all my intercourse with Dr Bell have I seen him take a drink, nor do I think he is [[left margin]] 25 [[/left margin]] a drinking man. I consider him thoroughly qualified for his position.
