Q 5 Were you present on a certain occasion when Dr Griffith and others visited the Hosp'l and Dr Bell (as it is charged) refused them admittance?
A  Yes. I was in the Hospital.
Q 10 Did Dr Bell refuse them admittance?
A  I only heard the reply made when Capt Brown asked permission for them to visit the Hosp'l. I heard Dr Bell say something to the effect, that if the Griffiths had not [[left margin]] 15 [[/left margin]] sent a petition to Washington for his (Bell's) removal, they could come otherwise not, as they were enemies of the Hospital's in that case.
