Asks for instructions in the matter as Circular letter of May 7th simply directs the renting of said banking rooms. |

Forwards copy of letter of the 11th of July in reference to an application for assistance from the Bureau in completing School Houses at Beaufort and Morehead City N.C. & states that Mr. Fisk replies that the original application was not in his control but that he had referred his (Smiths) letter to Genl Miles and thought the Genl would communicate with him (Smith) in a few days. But nearly a month has now passed & nothing has been heard of the request. |
