| August 29. 1867  #85 * | Daniell, W.C.- | Murray Bay, C.E.,  August 23. 1867 Requests that Genl Scott may be asked to return the papers which Genl Whittlesey was directed to forward (to Genl S.) on the 6th inst, and he will call for them when in Washington about the 15th prox., and that Genl S be requested to report when he has fulfilled instructions of 6th inst.- Submits statement of the conduct of  Capt Brandt towards himself; what he supposes are the causes therefor; the restrictions against his contracting with the freedmen; the nonrestoration of his plantation; his action since his pardon by the President; the terms of the contract he wished to make with the freedmen, and the delay & loss to them & him by Capt Brandts rejection of the contract. file.
